We’re live! The Investor Marketplace brand has now officially launched its specialised climate focussed site at climate-marketplace.com. The platform is open to all climate positive start-ups from high quality incubators, accelerators, innovation agencies and startup networks. The aim of our new platform is to accelerate investment into clean-tech start-ups in a structured and systemic way.
The past years we’ve been very pleased with the results that we have achieved through the marketplace. To give you an indication, the EIT Climate-KIC start-ups have raised over €1,4 billion. In 2020 alone, despite the ongoing pandemic, the start-ups on the platform raised over €140 million. We hope to grow these numbers exponentially (and the impact that it comes with) over the coming years by opening up the platform to more highly innovative climate positive start-ups, accelerators, incubators and other networks.
Why this change?
The reason for creating a new investor marketplace is three-fold. Firstly, we want to go global – to open up the platform to all clean technology start-ups looking for the right Impact Investors, wherever they are located in the world. In order to exponentially scale our impact, we have decided to no longer exclusively support Climate-KIC start-ups but to open up the possibility for all climate positive startups.
Secondly, we have ambitions to scale and expand our reach to more investors, all over the world, whilst continuing to provide our investor community of over 1,500 investors the most comprehensive overview of investment opportunities into early-stage climate positive start-ups.
And third, we want to grow our ecosystem beyond start-ups and investors to corporates, financial institutions, professional service companies, governments and universities by connecting around the clean opportunities of the future.
